- configuration state
- state
- A configuration has a state, one of:
SCHEDULED
, PENDING
, IN PROGRESS
, APPLIED
, or ERROR
. The state a configuration is in determines any necessary processing in systems like the Edge Direct backend or the agent on a gateway.
- configuration variable
- configuration variables
- A configuration variable allows a user to put a placeholder value in
their configurations, to have the site or gateway fill with a value when
the configuration is applied. For more information on how to use
configuration variables, see Configuring Multiple Gateways.
- current configuration
- A current configuration is a configuration that’s currently active on the gateway.
- desired configuration
- A desired configuration is a configuration that’s saved to the Edge Direct server. It may or may not be active on the gateway.
- scheduled configuration
- A scheduled configuration is a configuration that’s saved to the Edge
Direct server and associated with a particular Site. I will not
become active on any of the site’s gateways until the next time the site’s
maintenance window opens.
- Site
- Sites
- Represents a physical install location for one or more Gateways. This may be a whole venue (“3100 Broadway”) or bigger (“Canada”) or smaller (“Desk Pod 4A”). A Gateway may only be assigned to one Site. For more information on how Sites work, see Sites.
