2.3. Setting up Edge Direct

Rigado Edge Direct is the service through which you can manage your gateways, apps, and bundles. It is accessible by a web-based front-end at https://app.rigado.com/, or by a command-line utility we provide. This document will focus on using the web application, but you can find out more about the command-line tool here.

The first time you log into Rigado Edge Direct, you will use the invitation code provided in your welcome email. If you lose this email, or need a new invitation code, please contact support@rigado.com. After you log in the first time, Edge Direct will prompt you to create a new password.

2.3.1. Web Application Walkthrough

Along the left side of the page are navigation links to the various parts of the application.

app-icon    Apps

The Apps page is where you can see a list of your organization’s apps, create new apps, and manage which revisions of an app are assigned to which channels.

bundle-icon    Bundles

The Bundles page is where you manage your bundles. Here, you can create new bundles, assign tag values and app-channel pairs to bundles, and edit bundle information like title and description. You can also delete bundles. Note that deleting a bundle will not delete the apps assigned to the bundle.

gateway-icon    Gateways

The Gateways page is where you can see all of your organization’s gateways. They will periodically report status information, including:

  • Stability metrics such as up-time and “last seen” time
  • Performance metrics including CPU usage, memory usage, and disk usage
  • Lists of installed bundles and apps
  • Network interface details, including all relevant IP addresses

On this page you can also manage the tag values assigned to each gateway.

tag-icon    Tags

The Tags page allows you to manage tag keys. Before you can assign a tag value to a gateway or bundle, you need to set up a tag key to pair with that value. Find out more about how tagging works in Deploying an App to a Gateway.
